My healing approach
I believe that each of us comes into this life with a purpose, and our greatest endeavor is to reconnect with and live out that purpose.
How do we do that, exactly?
That question, for me, is at the heart of my spiritual path.
I am an avid student of both spirituality and science, in search of how to align fully with my life’s purpose and to help others do the same.
While the method is continually evolving, I have found tarot, Reiki, and bodywork to be an especially potent trifecta for attuning with one’s higher self.
Tarot illuminates which aspects of your life are in need of focused attention, and why. I see tarot as a tool to uncover what your higher self most wants to learn, right here, right now, and when you embrace your current learning, your awareness expands and life just flows.
Reiki gets to the core of what’s going on in your life right now. Imagine you’re building a chair: It’s much easier to change the blueprint before you start building as opposed to taking the chair apart after it’s assembled. Similarly, it makes more sense to heal your energy field–your blueprint–than to chase after symptoms arising from off-kilter energy. (Check out my book, Living Reiki.)
Bodywork brings you back to your sacred temple. If we’re disconnected from our body it’s harder to manifest what we want and need in this life, and bodywork gently brings us back home to ourselves, while helping to make our body a more comfortable place to come home to.

I also work intimately with my Spirit Guides, who help me not only in my healing sessions with clients, but also in my own personal journey of growth and change.
I practice what I preach and make self-care the foundation of everything I do, for as Reiki founder, Mikao Usui, once asked, “If you can’t heal yourself, how can you heal others?”
The more I evolve and shed my own obstructions, the better I am able to help my clients do the same.
After completing my 750-hour massage therapy training, I came across a book that would soon take my career in a new direction.
The book was called Anatomy Trains, and the author (and my future teacher), Tom Myers, had mapped different myofascial (muscles + fascia) lines or pathways in the body.
These lines are capable of transmitting force and tension, and when one part of the line experiences dysfunction, it can affect the line as a whole, as well as neighboring lines.
This model opened up an entirely new way of looking at the body, and specifically, it offered a very different framework for viewing posture and movement, and a way of addressing aches, pains, and other issues that was very different than traditional massage therapy.
I had to learn more!
After taking the introductory workshop and meditating my butt off for further guidance, I committed to traveling up to Maine for weeks at a time, five trips in all, for a total of 500 hours of training at the phenomenal school, Anatomy Trains Structural Integration.
I am now an Anatomy Trains Structural Integrator, and I am also a Board Certified Structural Integrator, a recognition governed by an independent organization that aims to maintain high standards and clear codes of conduct for the SI profession.
Movement is a vital component of the Structural Integration process, so I am also a Certified Personal Trainer.
To continue my movement studies, my plan is to complete a yoga teacher training in 2020. I’m looking forward to blending my 20-year personal yoga practice with my bodywork, so I can continue to find new ways to help people move well and feel great.
As an avid student of spirituality, I am a Reiki Master Teacher and a seasoned tarot reader.
I’m also the author of Living Reiki: Heal Yourself and Transform Your Life and Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Reiki, as well as articles in numerous anthologies (learn more).
While a great deal of my spiritual pursuits are self-guided, including my daily meditation and journaling practice, I am also completing more formal training with author-teacher Christopher Penzcak. Currently, I am preparing for my fourth year of studies with the Mystery School of the Temple of Witchcraft.
And yes, I realize “witchcraft” is a still a pretty loaded word for many people, so what does this mean to me?
The short version: I see the Divine existing in all things, particularly in nature, and my spiritual practice is centered around finding harmony with the Divine forces within and without.
I do this through a number of means, namely, journey meditations, dreamwork, divination, and ritual. Curious to know more? Ask away–I’m happy to share. 🙂
